Dissemination meetings

On 9–10 June 2026, our colleague from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Žilina, Ing. Peter Sýkora, PhD., participated in the international event "Transforming Healthcare with Trusted AI, Robotics and Data", held in Berlin as part of the TEF-Health initiative. The event brought together experts from healthcare, research, industry, and policymaking to foster the development and adoption of trustworthy artificial intelligence in healthcare. 

As part of TEF-Health Node Slovakia, Ing. Peter Sýkora, PhD., presented the activities of the Slovak node at Booth 5B – Innovation, Market Access and SME Support, highlighting support for startups, partnership building, and the advancement of digital health innovations. The programme also featured expert discussions on AI, regulatory frameworks, and the digital transformation of healthcare, alongside the bio:cap Life Science & AI Investival, which connected researchers, innovators, startups, and investors to accelerate the translation of scientific research into real-world healthcare solutions. 

On 20 November 2025, a meeting focused on the presentation of medical startups was held in Martin and was attended by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Slavomír Matúška, PhD. During the meeting, the services and support opportunities provided within the TEF-Health project were presented. At the same time, discussions were held with startup representatives on possible forms of cooperation, their needs, and the potential use of our capacities. The meeting also included networking and informal discussions with the participants.

Members of the TEF-Health Node Slovakia team from the University of Žilina, Ing. Róberta Hlavatá, PhD. and Ing. Peter Sýkora, PhD., participated in the CEE Startup Network Voucher Grand Finale event in Žilina, which took place on November 11, 2025.

At the KVTS 2025 conference focused on science, technology, and the challenges of artificial intelligence, organized by the Association of Slovak Scientific and Technological Societies, an invited lecture addressed current trends and key issues in AI. As part of the professional program, the TEF Health project was presented together with the services offered by the University of Žilina (UNIZA) within this project. The presentation of the TEF Health project was delivered by Ing. Peter Sýkora, PhD., who outlined its objectives, benefits, and opportunities for cooperation with the professional community.

On October 16–17, 2025, our colleagues from the University of Žilina in Žilina, Assoc. Ing. Miroslav Benčo, PhD., and Assoc. Ing. Slavomír Matúška, PhD., participated in the international event "Deployment of Trustworthy AI in Healthcare – Validation and Adoption", which took place in Sweden as part of the TEF-Health project initiative.

The technological meeting, which for the first time connected ten medical faculties from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, opened an important discussion about the teaching of artificial intelligence in medicine. The SK Node meeting was held on April 2, 2025 in the JLF Scientific Council meeting room. At this technologically focused meeting, the necessary hardware for the planned AI services was discussed.

On March 26 and 27, 2025, the ITAPA Health&Care conference took place in the picturesque surroundings of Starý Smokovec, focusing on the latest trends and innovations in healthcare, digitalization, and healthcare technologies.
